Here’s What’s Happening in the world of Mostly Autumn

BACK IN THESE ARMS DVD

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Back in These Arms - double DVD. It will be on sale at gigs, in our shop from next week and on general release from 7th December.

This stunning double live DVD from Mostly Autumn is the culmination and release of all the pent-up emotion and frustration that gathered after two and a half years of inactivity due to the pandemic. The concert is a mark of some kind of normality returning, and the cast of songs spans 27 years of the band. The magic and intensity is captured deeply in this show and is highly infectious.

Graveyard Star Reviews

Hi everyone

Autumn is here and we're so looking forward to getting back on the road - it seems like a long time.

Dates are below or on the live dates page on the website

We are so sorry the 1865 venue in Southampton had to postpone the December gig - we are trying to arrange another date for next year - still to be confirmed but we'll let you know asap.

Meanwhile...

Mostly Autumn in Abbey Road Studio 2

"Unloading our equipment into Abbey Road - Studio 2 was like some untouchable dream you had as a child but were now part of. With the giants of music breathing down our necks and all those classic songs still ghosting in the walls, we set the band up together with a string

quartet to record a live performance. There was no audience, barring the on-site engineers, film crew and some onlookers from York St John University. We all knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

This was just us performing live - a group of musicians performing as one when it really mattered, in that incredible cathedral of music history, Abbey Road - Studio 2.”

So happy to announce that Studio 2 is now available on our shop - official release date 15th October when it will be available in record shops on general release.

We had a fantastic time playing Rock Aisne in France earlier this month - it's so good to get back into gig mode and it was a lovely festival - we had a great welcome.
Next gig is is G2 in Glasgow on Saturday 10th June- a new one - looking forward to it very much, then it's down the M6 to the Robin2 on 11th - always a great gig and the early start (4pm doors) we think works well on Sundays.
After that it's the 1865 in Southampton on Friday 16th June - !!!

Graveyard Star

Is this the best rock album of 2021?
'In its meticulously composed, breathtaking and sometimes charmingly retro way, this might be the best rock record of 2021' - so says the New York Music Daily!!  Wow!!  High praise indeed!
We have been overwhelmed by the response to Graveyard Star - thank you so very much for buying the album and for your absolutely amazing comments - we have loved reading them.

BACK IN THESE ARMS - LIVE 2022

This stunning double live album from Mostly Autumn is the culmination and release of all the pent-up emotion and frustration that gathered after two and a half years of inactivity due to the pandemic. The concert is a mark of some kind of normality returning, and the cast of songs spans 27 years of the band. The magic and intensity is captured deeply in this show and is highly infectious.

Here at last... we are delighted to announce the new live 2022 double CD - Back in These Arms.
Available from all good retailers, Mostly  Autumn Records and at concerts.

Hello everybody - Hope you are all well

Well, it’s been a long time in the making but here we are and here it is… Graveyard Star.

The album is a deep, heartfelt reflection of how we were feeling through 2020 / 2021, a documentation of living through the pandemic.  Although a lot of the sadness and otherworldliness was personal to us, I’m sure many will relate to the content. There was simply no other inspiration present, only to write and put into music life as we felt it.  We truly believe that the song-to-song strength of this work could be our finest to date, it has been 18 months in the making and the longest studio schedule we have ever experienced.  The icing on the cake comes from Troy Donockley of Nightwish and Chris Leslie of Fairport Convention who guest beautifully on the album.

We sincerely hope you enjoy it and thank you in advance for your support in these strange and uncertain times.

All the best

Cheers - Bryan Josh and all at Mostly Autumn

See you on the road – we miss you all.

Well it's Autumn already and we're looking forward to playing live after a fantastic show at the Summer's End festival in Chepstow - great festival!

The next one is the Robin 2 - Bilston  - great way to spend Sunday afternoon / early evening - doors at 4pm with an 8pm finish. More info is on our tour dates page

Thanks so much to Dave Roberts and all the volunteers at the Cambridge Rock Festival.  It was great to play there - we loved it, it's such a friendly festival and thanks to everyone who came too - it's important - thank you for supporting live music.

It was also a brilliant feeling to be back over in NL and Belgium - fantastic gigs!
We were a little apprehensive about travelling there after Brexit but (with a lot of planning) it all went smoothly.
Great to see so many at the gigs - thank you to you all,

Sorry to report the Lake Garden festival has had to be postponed until next year - sad sign of the times.

Next weekend ( Saturday 25th June) it's the Citadel - so pleased it has re-opened, it's a great venue.  Then our home town gig at
The Crescent, York on Sunday 26th June - always has a special atmosphere, and who can resist a day in beautiful York!!

Hello everybody - hope all is well?
We just wanted to inform you of a very exciting project that is firmly in the pipeline.  In association with York St John University, Mostly Autumn had the privilege of recording a live session in Abbey Road studio 2.  We will pass on more details in due course and, needless to say, we all had the most incredible experience...in the footsteps of the giants of music.
Cheers
Bryan Josh
