Henry Bourne - Percussion |
Henry
has been playing music all his life. Starting with various brass instruments
such as trumpet and trombone, moving onto guitar for a short while, becoming
proficient on piano for many years and eventually finding his place behind
the drum kit. Henry has always concentrated on playing for the song not the individual. Putting a great groove into solid and simple patterns he has developed a unique and powerful playing style contributing greatly to the feel of a song. Influences such as Matt Sorum, John Bonham and Chad Smith it is easy to see where these ideas come from. ![]() Henry is no stranger to the stage having played in many bands around the York area over the years, most notably The Bitter Image and Coma. He has done large amounts of session work for a wide range of artists and is also experienced on the other side of the glass. After gaining a first class degree in Sound Technology from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Henry has worked as a freelance recording and mix engineer in studios throughout the UK with many talented artists. Currently working as Technical Author for Calrec Audio Ltd, Henry is starting a part time MSc in Digital Music Processing in September. Henry joined Mostly Autumn in 2008 just before the recording of the album Glass Shadows: "I'm really glad I joined at this point. It's given me the chance to experiment with the band and hopefully contribute some of my own style and ideas to the new record. I'm busy learning all the back catalogue at the moment in preparation for the upcoming tour and really looking forward to getting out on the road with the band." |
